Fix golf slice is by far the biggest problem that most golfers I teach deal with. It’s frustrating because you lose lots of golf balls and by losing golf balls, your score goes up! Talk about a costly combination. Most players never take lessons when they’ re learning the game and this problem never gets corrected and they just accept hitting this shot. The worst thing a player can do is to actually start playing for their slice. If it’s a right handed player they will start to aim more and more left of their target to play for the big sweeping shot. Doing this loses yardage and only creates a bigger issue with the golf swing.
It does take a little bit of work to start hitting the ball straight again but you first must determine why you are slicing. They’re a few issues that can cause a slice. A poor grip, a bad swing path, holding the club too tightly or not having the club face square at impact are the main reasons. All these things are very easy to cure with some time on the range and with the right instruction to work on you will be hitting it longer and straighter!
Having worked with hundreds of golfers who have this problem I can confidently say I can fix just about anybody’s slice or at the very least minimize it so they can manage their way around a golf course much easier.
